2008 Mercury 250 Pro xs L (1B693095) Lower unit options?

So, I lost my Lower unit this past weekend and looking for options to replace it. It was a TM Lower unit but seeing my boat has never gone over 68 mph I really don't feel I need the TM. Boat is a 2010 Nitro Z9 CDC.(Big & Heavy). Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Gen-1 Torquemaster would be the preferred choice.

Second option would be the Verado-Style Gearcase.

DON'T use aftermarket or the old Standard/Servicemaster. Neither is a good option for your application.

Note: Your big, heavy hull is benefiting from the Gen-1's lift. Probably similar performance with the Verado-style, perhaps 1 MPH slower.

Durability wise: The Verado Style is less expensive, and built like a brick "outhouse".

Thank you for responding. This helps out a lot. I do have European Marine on my radar for sending my old unit in to be rebuilt if that's an option. What would be best way to cross reference to Verado Lower unit?
