    Active target 2

Is active target a massive change or do we wait for next product to move from active target 1

We will probably not see a new product line from Brunswick until next year at ICAST, but no one knows.

Do update your Active Target 2 software if you have not already do so. .

Better but not much much much better. AT2 Stitching is less, distance is more, and target seperation is better than AT1.

You think? But will it be "massively" better?

I’d be interested in what the OP would consider better. Is there a specific want or desire? Maybe Lowrance will read this post and add it

It is worth the upgrade especially if you are running HDS Pro. You can run 2 AT2 paired or separate. If you are shallow water fisherman the dual Scout views are fantastic for shallow water anything under 10 ft. great range and detail with that paired setup. The range is 150ft vs 100ft and best part is the bottom detail all the way to most of the 150ft range. You can't get that on the AT1. The other dual view is the forward back. you can look 150ft forward and out the back of the boat then do a turn on the TM and spot targets live around the boat. To me those are worth the investment, I have adapted to this for the reason of covering more water like shallow water at that is the archeries heal of FFS.

I am running lives, at1 seems ok, but improvements would be better. I am running a nep2, lives, 3100, hd 3n1, have active target one, and a 3n1 on the ghost....

I also would think that a new one is in the works, that is reason I was even interested to see....

AT2's biggest improvement for me is less stitching but in reality just general use in forward view set to 80-100ft out there isn't much difference.

Look at it this way, your current AT1 is only one generation out and can be easily sold now, but if you wait for two generations out it likely will not be worth much if anything. Personally I try to stay current, but never go two generations out, but that's me...

I upgraded a couple months ago. I thought my AT1 setup was great, but I had temporary access to a 50% discount so I took advantage and upgraded. I thought it would be a huge difference. It's better, but not to the degree I was expecting. I'd say there's only maybe a 15% improvement in stitching and clarity at longer ranges in forward mode. Maybe 20 to 25% better on scout mode. But the caveat on scout mode is that the bigger improvement came from installing a Fish Obsessed mount so that i could adjust the depth angle to the situation.

Last year when I upgraded the electronics on my boat I went with AT 2, no regrets not going AT 1 even though I could've saved $600. I did get a rebate from Lowrance though.
