    you say it only sees as far out as the depth 5ft d = 5ft out?
    is it the trandsducer or the machine?

    Yes, your example is right. I was advised by Garmin that it’s the transducer, so I bought a new one. I can’t confirm that’s the fix, as I’ve had motor problems and been without my boat for over a month now.
