Things are JUST starting to warm up here in upstate NY.....last weekend's snowstorm really put a damper on things!!
We were out Easter sunday on Onondaga in the afternoon - wind came up a lot more than forecast tho - a little disappointing..
BUT we managed some pretty chunky 2-3+ pound largies - jerk baiting with LONG pauses seemed to be the most productive technique...
Supposed to warm a LOT this week - looking to getting out this week and next weekend!! Forecasting maybe 70 degrees next sunday - keeping fingers crossed!!!!

I fished tournaments with O.C. years ago. Also fished with Black Rock Bassbusters at the same time.
Learned a hell of a lot from members from both clubs before I got a bass boat. Fond memories ...(if I can recall them at 73 yrs.).

Anyone fish the Mohawk R. ? I fished it in a tournament from my friend's V bottom row boat and won with a limit of smallies the first day.
yes. We have won a lot there including last fall with a 5 smallie limit for 19.09lbs. What tourney did you do? I might have been there...

Too bad I can't fish West Point lakes. Now the reg only allows employess and severly disabled vets to fish there. I have no disability from my four years in service diuring the Vietnam war.
BTW, many waters are within an hour's drive of where I live in Orange C. - Orange Lake only 15 min. from the house.
I don't just target bass. Nice to have a 3' pickerl and 12" crappie tugging on my light action rod. Too bad I have no one to fish with.
