Fish Report

Has anybody seen or heard of fish kills in Morgan City and Gibson areas?

None in Gibson that I have heard but plenty in the verret area.

Verret area and Blind River in Ascension Parish are the ones I know of.

I’m guessing once things settle down, verret won’t be so bad… I believe (just my theory, I’m no expert) the dead fish seen floated from upstream… bay Natchez north area had some pretty funky looking water earlier this year…. I would like to think those dead fish came from those upper reach areas with a flushing of the bad junk and it’s not a total wipeout in verret grassy lake area.. but again, I’m no expert..

Amite river/blind river, yeah, wiped out…. But they’ll come back.. three years since Ida and if you see all the pics and videos it’s all 8”-12” bass so, that’s about right..

That sucks for Amite River area.
Right before IDA, LDWLF almost had it coming back
with spotted bass.

I talked to a conworker and his camp in Iberville Parish outside the levee.
He said they had a fish kill which would be just North of Bay Natchez.

I've heard several reports of crackerhead area also.
