Johnson Venom 200 verification?
1997 Johnson Venom 200 #J200STLEUB
Ive been trying to read and do my homework about the #2 cylinder high speed jet update as well as the updated drain plug and o ring, I think I understand that. but my questions are:
1) Does the 1997 models still have the smaller jets? The parts diagram for my year is showing 67D jet size. Should I still plan to go to a 69D if it hasn’t already been done?
2)my model being the J200ST, is it true this model may be some kind of HO model or have some kind of improvements done to it and it actually have more power than the 200hp states? That may just be a rumor I found on google though.
3) other than the jet update is there anything else (other than tearing down and rebuilding/updated) to help make this motor more reliable? I don’t run my motor high RPM too often or for very long periods typically. Seems like long high speed runs are when the EGTs get up and start the major issues on these engines.
Thanks for any help!

You won't know what you have until you remove the drain plug and HS orifice. 69D would be the way to go on #2 if you have a 67d in there.
Not much difference between the 200's ST gets better paint job and decals.

Thank you for all your help as usual! I’m out of town so I haven’t gotten a chance to look yet but assuming I have the 67D and need to go to the 69D, they look nearly impossible to find. Do you have any leads on a place with a stockpile or 69D jets? Would the 73D (that’s readily available) be too big? Thanks

You would need to change out the mids to match and possibly the throttle bodies.
