    2019 Mercury’s pro xs 150 four stroke?

Do these lower units like being ran deeper than most ? I’m trying to set up a 2003 stratos 18XL with a 2019 pro xs 4 stroke. I have to get a bigger prop for sure but at 5800
with a 22 tempest plus I’m only running 46 which is over 20% slip & I can easily pass 6000 rpm completely full of 38 gallons gas, livewells full & 2 guys at around 250 a piece. I’m going to try a 24 tempest plus & a 24 fury both to see what happens but just wondered about the average below pad prop shaft depth was on these motors on an 18 footer? Thanks

Try 3.5" below pad. You should not have excess slip although brand of boat and jackplate information would help.

I would think a Tempest Plus 21 P should get you into mid 50's on that hull turning 5800-5900 rpms.

You may have to adjust jackplate up with the 8" jackplate.
