    Lakes south of Flint?

We may be heading downstate to visit our daughter for labor day weekend. I am thinking about hauling the boat down to do some fishing, but wanted to see if I could get some input on lakes south of Flint (Grand Blanc/ Fenton area). I am guessing a holiday weekend will be insane on Lake Fenton so looking for suggestions. Thanks

You'd probably be ok until about noon at most of the lakes in the area. An option would be Kent Lake down off 96. It's a sizeable no-wake lake so you would have more pleasant time to fish. Has both large and small mouth. Ponemah is another option and is close but it will get busy but still fishable.

The three big lakes south of Flint are Fenton, Lobdell and Ponemah

Out of the three I would prefer Lobdell but as stated by noon your nothing more than a race buoy out there

Any lake in South East Michigan will be crazy by noon

alby is correct Kent lake is your best bet it will still have plenty of boats but you won't be bouncing around like a bobber or in fear of being run over and it has some good fishing
