    Castable Sonar Bobbers

Does anyone have experience with any of the sonar bobbers marketed towards bank fisherman? We need to measure the depths of some stormwater ponds and we were kicking around the idea of trying one of those units out.

Did some testing for Reelsonar iBobber, would work for what you want and is a lot cheaper than the one you have listed. I don't remember being able to cast it out of range.

Garmin made/makes one that had decent reviews, do not remember the model name though.

The problem is that the bobber/transducer has to be used in very calm water as any movement causes the sonar beam to jump all over the place.

Good to know. Fortunately we can pick and choose what days to get measurements so we should be able to work that in.

I still have my ibobber that my wife got me for my kayak. Good to reviewing the depth and bottom if there's little surface motion...I was never comfortable pulling out my phone, while on my kayak.

I have the one that Wayne posted.
Go their website (Vexilar)- look for factory reconditioned.
    Bought mine about 1/2 price.
