    Update on the 23.3 updatech

    (3)Carbon
    ghost
    AT1

I recently posted here asking about the 23.3 updates. I had no intention of updating until someone mentioned that some people noticed the update helped with the very top section of the screen on AT1. Helped with a “missing slice” on AT1 screen.

i decided to update since I’ve always had trouble seeing my bait until it sank a few feet. Id never seen my bait splash on entry like many others.

After updating I went out and noticed a big improvement. That Early morning with overcast, rainy conditions I could see my bait splash and could pick up my bait much sooner. As the day went along I noticed my “missing slice” seemed to get worse. The clouds started breaking up and the sun broke through and my AT1 seemed to get worse and looked more like my pre update view.

I have a friend with Garmin and he says that his view will change throughout the day based on light conditions etc?

Any thoughts about changing views throughout the day on AT1? Does the Sun, or angle of the sun, or clouds make a difference?

I was happy to see my bait splash that morning but was disappointed later that day that it got worse.

could be a battery issue. good pic early when batteries full, picture changes as battery drains.

How about you put a voltage overlay on the see what the voltage is doing when you say the image chages. Sun no effect Brand G uses a lot more amps and manual adjustments than your AT. Its more likely contrast adjust . what dept are you talking about there are so many variables especially if one does not have the install and setup correct.

Make sure the module is mounted in a ventilated area. When it gets hot, the image-quality drops fast.

where do you suggest? Mine was mounted under the front deck dash, not easy to get to and check, but no other heat generating units. I know some mount in the rod box

that is the worst place to mount as Zero air flow. Best under the console of in the rod locker in front of the console It needs air flow for cooling.

Like Bass said, that does not sound like the «well ventilated area» this module should be in, unless you have the lid open when using AT. In my own boat I have mounted the module under the dash.

You can do a litle test the next time you see the image get worse. Get down there and put your hand on the module. If you feel heat, turn it off and leave the lid open so it cools. When it is cool, fire it up again and see if the image is better. If it is, you know what to do. ;)

that makes sense. It’s mounted against a wall in the rod locker

I have my module mounted on stand offs to help it stay cool.
I also have a cut off switch to power off the module when
    not in use.
Just some ideas for cooling. Its in a front cabinet under a side seat.
