    Keel guard 210 ?

Time to replace mine. I could use a little feedback before I order one. It looks like the one I'm replacing is 7'. I installed it about 1' from the bow eye.

    1) Should I get another 7' or go up to 8 or 9' ?
    2) How far forward should it be installed ? All the way to the bow eye ?

    TIA

I’ve installed one and it was a PITA, next time I’d pay a shop to install one. I think the instructions tell you how high above the water line to start it.

If you are going to keep the hull recommend installing Hamby's original.

Mercury authorized dealer (who did routine maintenance on my 175) installed a Hamby's Light in 2009 on Champ below; it is 5.5-inch from bow eye. Hamby is currently 15-years old, black & white resized photo (Photoshop) is from Feb 2023.

Another vote for Hamby's Original. That's what is on my 210 and the 201 before it. Had a Hamby's Light Duty on my 176 and it started peeling off after 3-4 years.

Okay, let's just say that I'm going to go with a Hamby's. WTS are there any other suggestions for the 2 following questions ?

    1). Should I just get another 7' or go up to 8or 9' ?

2). How far forward should it be installed ? All the way to the bow eye?
