Paint touch up RT188

My 1 side bunk was always touching the boat when I loaded and drove. Didn't notice the carpet wore away and now I have a 1 inch by 4 inch bare spot where the paint rubbed off. Fixed the bunk but what do you suggest for paint, just use a brush with Ranger touch up paint? The bunk hides most of the bare spot. What have you guys done? Thanks.

When you load the boat, look over and see if the boat is touching either bunk, it shouldn't be. There should be 1-2" between the boat and the bunk. If it is touching, back up and load again. You may have to sit on the middle seat to balance it out when loading. The RT 188 can be very finnicky when loading.

I don't know about the paint.

Thanks for the reply, it is centered. Originally had 2 inches on each side, must of got damaged sitting at the ramp. Really asking about the paint. Anybody touch up a spot a couple inches long?

Somewhere around you there will be a automobile paint supply store. They mix and sell paint to body shops. They have a gizmo a lot like a camera. You can take your boat to them and they can take that gizmo out to your boat and shoot a good section of paint. It will tell them exactly what to mix for a match. They can mix the paint and they will have a spray can that they put it in.

Tape the area off. Back away with the can. Spray from a few inches away. Practice first.
