what rod are you guys running for chatterbaits? I currently have a dobyns thats is getting wore out and would like to upgrade for next year. I prefer a longer rod at least 7ft. Thanks in advance

GLX MBR 843/844 depending on weights. 3/8 plus trailer on the 843 and 1/2 oz plush trailer on the 844

Loomis did introduce 2 new bladed jig rods, a 7-2 medium and a 7-4 medium heavy.

Guys tend to have different preferences for Chatterbaits, also. Braid with moderate action vs fluoro with moderate action vs fluoro/mono with fast action. So you may get a few different opinions. What Dobyns are you using currently? That may help us give a better Loomis recommendation if you like the Dobyns.

☝3 or 4 power Loomis. If you throw 1/2 oz mostly you need definitely 4 power. 3/8 and sometimes 1/2 3 power works great.

Dobyn's MH Fury Crankin rod. If it wears out, I'll get another. I miss very few fish. No grass in my lake. Honestly, I think high end rods on moving baits are a waste of money. I would sooner be in the midrange. Sensitivity and light weight generally mean thin-walled blanks. Gonna break easier. Give me a high end rod when I need to feel that jig/worm bite.

Appreciate the help on the 843 MBR for 3/8 ounce Chatterbaits and the 844 for 1/2 ounce.
In the IMX line what’s your thoughts on Spinnerbaits? Same Rods ?
I’m thinking of sticking with the IMX line with moving baits ... I have 3 NRX that I use for jigs/worms .. bottom contact baits.

Like everyone else has said, 843c and 844c, they're jack of all trades EXCEPT in spinnerbaits and chatterbaits, they RULE at those techniques.
