    Wheel dolly ?

I'm having year ending heart surgery on Monday. I have a new phoenix 921 elite w/tandem axles. I'm thinking of buying a set of wheel dollys. I'm wondering if I put a set on the rear axle, will it lift it enough to raise the front axle or do I need 4 actual dollys? I've never used these. Thanks guys

I had to use dollies back when I was stuffing a Cat Cougar in a 5 pound sack. It was hard enough to get rolling using four dollies. Once it was rolling I could easily roll it anywhere I wanted.

I tried the set of 2 dollies on my Phoenix to do the same thing...... found out I needed 4 to get both sets of tires off the floor..........
Never did buy the 2nd set................ (I'd consider selling the pair I have)....

Only works with 2 on frt axle. I roll my boat backwards where I want it and then put the dollies on the front axle and swing it sideways for Clearance in the garage. You could get four and do the whole boat but the boats are so heavy. You’re gonna have to have one or two people help you at least depending on how you need to move it and where plus you better have a really good garage floor smooth as glass.

Two on the front axle. Makes the trailer perform like a single axle. If you have the strength, you can maneuver it anywhere with just two dollies. I used to get my 21' Triton into a two car garage very easily. I used the truck to get it angled in and above the slope. Then unhook put the dollies on the front axle and basically just push the tongue over to get the angle right. It can work but certainly 4 would be even easier.

The trick is to realize just which direction you want to make the initial move. After that when you place the dollies, try to orient all 8 or 16 wheels properly and then the initial move will be easier. Trying to make the first move with the wheels pointing in all different directions will definitely make you grunt.

Plenty of old threads on this site over the years saying 2 will easily work, but must be on the front axle.

If you are getting your chest spread open. you won't be pushing anything for a while. Good luck om the operation and the boat dollies.

You might try one of those power dollies.

I tried that on mine, and I couldn’t get it to work at all. It just wanted to lift the tongue roller off the ground.

I used a pair for five years on the front wheels of a Ranger Z520c to move it around the garage. It works well if you do not have any health problems. I used Go-Jacks.

When I turned sixty, I invested in a battery operated dolly (Park it 360) and it does an excellent job without much physical exertion.

I bought two wheel dollys last weekend for use on my 20’ single axle Ranger. I was very disappointed as moving it around in my garage on the dollys was incredibly difficult. As someone said above, getting all of the wheels lined up in the direction you want to go helps, but it’s still far from easy. I will be returning mine this weekend.

i move boat in and out on all 4 tires then use 2 dollies to pivot it into the corner better for more room. works great that way. you might need 4 to do what you are needing to? all 4 on dollies lots of weight to deal with by yourself also

I have used both the dollies and a Park it 360 to move my boat in my last few garages. Picked one up used and battery power is much easier than me pushing it. The park it 360 is what I use now to move my dual axle trailer trailer around my garage and driveway where the truck won’t fit. The dollies were good for putting the boat away in a tight corner right up against the wall, but not for quickly getting the boat in and out for routine use. One thing that also helped with the dollies was making a small box with casters for the trailer jack as it would get that end moving real easy and the sides were made out of 2x2’s so the wheel wouldn’t slip out.
