    Anybody seen this?
"Disqualified anglers at Lake Okeechobee for ABA Top 150 SOLO" posted by TheBassCast.com on FB?

I don't know how to post a link to it.

Here's the link - nothing on the ABA site about it.

I guess it can be hard following a rule that will be implemented in 2025

    GOOD!

You see way to many Elites and MLF anglers put their life jacket/suspenders on and not snap or zip it up and many when they do they only snap one clasp
Young anglers watch these events and see the pros get away with this kind of stuff and think its ok for them to do the same

The article can't even make up it's mind. Does the rule say it has to be worn while motor is running or in gear???? Can you take it off idling but not in gear? What it you leave your boat in gear but turn it off and remove your PFD, is that a violation?

Also says combustion engine, now there are electrics.
Most clubs and organizations I've fished has this rule in place.

Not only that but they are trying to penalize guys for a rule violation that is something they haven't even invented yet.. Clearly says 2025.

This was a new rule that was implemented in 2025 by ABA.

Agree, and it drives me crazy the amount of Elites and or other "Pros" you see on their YouTube channel making videos running on plane, no jacket, no kill-switch. Hell, even on TV shows you will see those guys from time to time not wearing PFD's and kill-switches while running on plane.
Just be kind to one another. It really is that simple.

The 2025 must have been a typo. This is a common rule, and I can't believe some anglers still won't follow simple rules.

Do you guys fish a lot of larger tournaments that don’t have this rule?? I’ve never even fished a small tournament that didn’t have this rule. They should all know better imo

Well if not in a tournament I don't see the issue as it's their choice?

Meh. Chances of needing the life jacket is really small. About the same as needing an epi-pen.
